Busy Week
Busy Week
It's been a busy couple of weeks continuing to get things done on my list of things to do before the transplant (not that i've actually made the list, that would make it all too real) and getting ready to go to yosemite for a few days.I finally got the car fully serviced - well almost! O got four new tires which it desperately needed, and took it in for a tune up, oil change, new brakes and inspection of consumable parts like clutch, hoses and belts. All this cost over 1,000.00 and yet my "CHECK ENGINE" light still comes on! i should run back to the mechanic and complain about this and the fact that the brakes feel really too soft, but now i am running out of time before the Yosemite trip.
I have also managed to make a dentist appointment with my regular dentist for Jan 2, 2008 when new dental coverage kicks in and ordered and picked up the Xrays the UCSF dental school did.
I got my biweekly blood tests (and boy was that a hard stick!)
I've gone to the physical therapist once a week for several weeks to work on straitening and strengthening my poor back.
I trade wonderful body work from my friend Julie for some computer instruction once a week, which complements the physical therapy. Julie's touch is amazing and i keep trying to convince her this is her true calling!
I've also been seeing a counselor at the women's building about my PTSD and how it effects my parenting, especially of my daughter, and my relationship with my mom. she has wonderful insight into the mother daughter thing! for us all these issues are intensified by my illness.
I've also managed to take my daughter shopping and to her appointments, and today my son and i will go shopping for whatever he needs for Yosemite, including winter socks and gloves. We will pack today and leave first thing in the morning, after i have a doctor's appointment in Oakland that is! At least it's on the way.
I've been doing very little art and much more housework, it's really depressing but so is a messy house!
I am looking forward to several days in the great outdoors of yosemite and shooting for no doctor visits until Jan 2, 2008.
wish me luck!
